FOIA Request to Wayne County Election Department Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at North Pocono News have submitted a request for records under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law. Our request, sent on February 5, 2025, seeks information about all candidates running in the upcoming election.

We have requested details including each candidate’s first, middle and last name, the office they are running for, their jurisdiction of office and party affiliation. We have also asked for contact information for each candidate such as their address, phone number and email address.

As a media organization, we rely heavily on access to public records to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.

Our aim is to provide our readers with an in-depth understanding of who is running in the upcoming election and what offices they seek. This will enable voters to make informed decisions when casting their ballots.
