Spices were among the most valuable items of trade in ancient and medieval times. The use of spices spread rom the Middle East to the Mediterranean to Europe. Join the Wayne County Public Library for a Spice Exploration.

For November, the spice will be French Tarragon. Use the recipe provided or find you own, but send a photo of you dish -- print or digital.

Pike up spices and recipes during the first full week of each month:

Nov. 1-6: French Tarragon

Dec. 6-10: Maceway
