The 5th grade students of NPI competed in a Pumpkin Chunkin Catapult STEAM Building Competition during the month of October. The goal was to utilize their engineering skills to construct a catapult that was then tested for accuracy, power, and launch distance. Students explored the engineering process while working in collaborative groups to draft a blueprint design, test, revise, and lastly put their final designs to the test! The finalists for each group in all qualifying categories will be rewarded for their efforts and ingenuity with a pizza party! It's full STEAM ahead for the kids of NPI this year in their new learning lab!
