North Pocono School District issued the following announcement.
Good evening.
We have been notified this evening that our district has a positive COVID-19 case amongst the North Pocono staff. As promised, we wanted to send this information to you as soon as we could. We are now dealing with this virus at an extremely personal level, which truly hits home. Out of respect for the individual involved, and in accordance with privacy laws, we can’t divulge any further information than what follows:
- The case involves a staff member at the high school.
- After consulting with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the individual involved, it has been determined there are no close contacts at this time.
- Close contacts are defined as individuals that have been in contact within 6 feet for 15 consecutive minutes of the infected individual. There are no further actions that need to be taken at this time.
Our thoughts and well wishes go out to this individual. The district will continue to work with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and follow all recommended safety protocols.
