Borough of Matamoras issued the following announcement on July 28.
Matamoras DPW will be patching potholes throughout the Borough Streets in the month of August. For the Safety of our workers, sections of the Borough Streets may be temporarily closed while work is being done. Please plan alternate routes. During this time, brush pickup will be interrupted and minimized. Residents are encouraged to bring their brush to the dump located behind the Westfall Township Building which is open M-F from 7-3 and from 8-1 on Saturday. We apologize for any inconvenience.
We will also be trimming brush, trees and bushes at road intersections and in the Borough right of way. Residents are responsible and encouraged to maintain their vegetation and trees adjacent to borough roads. Any growth on corner lots must be maintained and shall not exceed 30″ in height and trees must be trimmed so that the lowest branch is no less than 10 feet. This provides a clear line of sight for vehicles at intersections. If you are unsure if the vegetation on your property is in compliance with the Borough Code, please contact the Borough Secretary to schedule an appointment for one of our DPW staff to review your property.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding and please “USE CAUTION WHEN PASSING OUR DPW WORKERS ON THE ROAD!”
