Wayne County issued the following announcement on Sept. 13.
The Northeast Suicide Prevention Initiative (NSPI) hosts the Wayne/Pike Suicide Awareness, Prevention and Remembrance Walk on Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Wallenpaupack Area High School. “Share the Journey” is a family friendly, no-cost walk with donations accepted to help fund community programs in Wayne and Pike Counties. No pets please.
The event allows families to share their grief and honor their loved one, raise awareness that most suicides are the result of severe depression and fight the stigma that stops people from asking for help.
The event will also include a basket raffle and refreshments as well as resource information for both Wayne and Pike counties. All donations stay in Wayne and Pike Counties and you can register and donate on the day of the event starting at 10 am. Visit: Wayne/Pike NSPI Facebook page or contact John Nebzydoski at jnebzydoski@waynecountypa.gov for details.
